Hello Whatcom Democrats members!
At our general meeting on 9/26 the I&A committee presented two resolutions to be voted on. The first resolution is on banning the sale of kratom and 7-OH products and was brought to us by Leah Wainman and Kevin Stray. The second resolution was crafted by the I&A committee on ensuring rental housing is safe for tenants. Both of these resolutions passed, with votes exceeding the 3/4 majority that is required for them to pass on first reading. We are in the process of determining what our next steps are in advocating for the policies outlined in these resolutions.
